Lakeside Lighting Ideas

With the gorgeous weather we've had, I've chosen to be outside by the water whenever possible. The warm sunshine has made me crave my flip flops, summer dresses, margharitas and countless hours spent with my feet up, book in hand, enjoying the lakeside summer breeze. We've been busy painting the main floor to brighten it up, and I've been in relentless organizing/crafting mode. Step aside, Martha Stewart. Michael just made me a mimosa on this beautiful Sunday afternoon and I am finally giving this blog of mine the attention it deserves.

My latest quest has been to find the right lighting for this gorgeous house. Some inspiration and possibilities:

I am in love with natural woven ANYTHING. This includes lighting fixtures.

I found this beauty from Neiman Marcus.

This is going to be our porch light. When the weather remains consistently warm, we're going to sand and stain the porch, and (hopefully soon) stain our two new Muskoka chairs.

I am still madly in love with old fashioned pendant lighting in the kitchen.

I am looking for a white kitchen cart and envision two smaller ones floating above. Not that the ones below are much smaller...

For the foyer, above the base of the banister, I envision the delicate candle-like glow of a triple mini pendant.

I love the cabana stripe of this lamp too.

We are also looking for a new runner for the stairs. Kitty paws definitely need some grip, and I think the one here has been in place for 50 years or so. More on that later. Off for a walk by the lake.
