DIY Organic Body Scrub

With summer on the horizon and self-tanner now a regular part of my beauty routine, I wanted to indulge in a body scrub that I created from ingredients I already had in the house. My first base used ground coffee.

DIY Kahlua Coconut Coffee Scrub

This isn't actually made with Kahlua, but it smells like it.

1/4 cup ground organic coffee
1/2 cup fine sea salt
1/4 cup organic coconut oil
2 tbsp honey
1/2 tsp vanilla essence

With the addition of coffee, this scrub has a coarser texture. Honey is both humectant and anti-microbial so it keeps skin super moist while it stops the growth of bacteria. Honey, after all, sits on the shelf at room temp and doesn't go bad. It contains vitamins, minerals, pollen and protein which are excellent for the skin. Coconut oil is the same, as it contains anti-microbial fatty acids and vitamin E.

DIY Honey Lime Coconut Body Scrub

1/2 cup fine sea salt
1/4 cup organic coconut oil
3 tbsp honey
zest of one lime

This is a finer scrub and my skin felt unbelievable after using it.

  1. Thank you for sharing! Two of my favourite things - Kahlua and lime - although not together! :)

I would love to hear from you! Thanks for stopping by and connecting!
