I am absolutely craving colour this time of year while nature is still sleeping. I am thrilled to see winter sale racks dwindle to make room for bright spring colours. It's funny, I realized the other day that I don't really have winter clothes. I have sweaters to wear over my summer clothes.

I've been craving anything peach - colour, flavour, fragrance - even though we are smack in the middle of winter. Maybe I'll make a refreshing and light peach sangria and a warm peach crisp to enjoy by the fire.

There were plenty of options from the sea this year at Niagara's Ice Wine Festival. Mmmmmm.... east coast lobster bisque with vidal ice wine, shrimp with thai curry lemongrass coconut sauce paired with riesling ice wine, seafood chowder and oysters with kerner ice wine... Delicious! For the sweet tooth: toasted ice wine marshmallows on an open fire and fresh fruit skewers bathed in a belgian chocolate fountain with cabernet franc ice wine. THIS is how I like to warm up on a cold winter day!
I always end up looking for a little tropical glow amidst the cold, dark and dry days of winter. These are my eco-friendly and natural beauty staples that hydrate, pamper and recapture the essence summer.
1.Korres Pomegranate Lip Butter
I'm not usually a fan of lip pots, but this juicy colour is mouthwatering.
2.Lavanila Summer Frangrance
I've had strangers ask me what fragrance I'm wearing. It's a beautiful blend of madagascar vanilla, pineapple, mango and coconut.
3. Ren Skincare Resurfacing AHA Concentrate
This stuff is INCREDIBLE. Within a few weeks, my skin was clear and radiant. Worth every penny. This stuff is gold.
4.Essie Nail Polish in Coral Reef
I tried this cheery orange-coral for my latest home mani-pedi - it's bright, bold, summery and super durable.
How breathtaking is this all natural pool at The Four Seasons Hualalai Hawaii? Carved out of lava, it flows with ocean water from subterranean channels. It is not only a sanctuary for guests, but for 3000 tropical fish. Imagine snorkelling in this oasis! This is not just your typical architectural genius, it's the beauty of God's design within a luxury resort.
I am not fond of the perennial list of January resolutions. In the past, I have been guilty of having such lofty expectations that became short-lived and left me feeling deflated and discouraged. And then I just stopped making resolutions. So this year, I am creating a vision. One that isn't so much a destination or a goal, but a direction that is fluid, flexible and might have me meandering on a different path than I originally planned. Here's some of my inspiration:
While I may not be able to go for a morning swim in the bay, I can find ways to lengthen and enjoy my mornings and create a feeling of weeknight zen. I don't have to resent the mid-week rush of responsibilities. And I am confident that Monday mornings don't have to be so challenging.
